Mulch Film With Punched Holes

Berry & Spence have built a reputation for supplying high quality mulch films to the South African agricultural market over the last 30 years.  We are constantly looking for ways to innovate and improve our mulch products.

Thanks to our in-line hole punching unit, we are able to offer our agricultural customers our unique punched mulch film, where the planting holes are pre-punched in the mulch sheeting. Hole-spacing can be customised according to the individual farmer’s requirements.

The holes are 50mm in diameter, and can be accurately and evenly spaced to any required distance between punches.  The positioning of the rows across the width of the film can also be adjusted according to requirements.  For example, it is possible to run a single row down the centre of the film, or alternatively, two rows with the holes 100mm either side of centre of the film.

The advantages of having the mulch film pre-punched with holes are as follows:

  • Enormous savings in labour and time, and hence labour costs;
  • Optimum use of the planting area due to even hole spacing;
  • Avoiding damage to irrigation systems due to manual cutting;
  • The choice of the hole pattern that best suits your crop;
  • The flexibility of punched holes on any film width from 500mm up to 1.45m.
